You did not fall asleep here, but here is where you wake up. Or perhaps you simply blinked and found yourself here.
Here being the gymnasium of what appears to be a high school called North High, judging by the banners on the tall walls. The banners tell of sports team wins, the latest dating 2000.
Scattered about the gym is sports equipment, various balls... and a pile of human remains. Bleached bones, covered with limp clothes dating from the early 2000s. Near the remains floats a glowing, blue ball of energy that emits a warm aura of welcoming.
That's about the only thing in here that is welcoming.
Should you choose to wander, you'll find that only three doors open. The rest are affixed to the wall as though they are decorations, not actual functioning doors. One door leads to the kitchens, which is obviously in disrepair. The ovens do not work, the refrigerator door is hanging off its hinges, but for some reason, there is just enough food to last all that arrived a day.
The food isn't great. There are small single portions of salads, milk that's a little slushy (not spoiled, just frozen), mac and cheese that's a little rubbery... classic high school fare. There is a sign with messy lettering that looks like it was painted in blood that reads: Take only what you need. There are also other signs, depicting the American standard for a balanced school lunch.
The other two doors, one marked for boys and the other for girls, lead to the locker rooms. A pungent, wet aroma exudes from the locker rooms, but if you'd like a shower or to go to the bathroom, it's the only place you have. Most of the lockers themselves are locked and cannot be picked open, but some will open at the slightest touch, revealing disturbing things such as huge wads of hair, bones, pounds of flesh, or simply... nothing.
The only windows are in the gymnasium and they are high up. Should you be capable of flight or find some other way to reach them, you will find them covered in bloody handprints and absolutely incapable of opening or breaking. Through the handprints, you can see that it is dark outside, with a dense forest surrounding the building. Not that it matters. It's not like you can get outside.
